The emergency use of 2% liquid strychnine concentrate for the control of Richardson’s ground squirrels has been approved in Saskatchewan until November 2027.
This Emergency Use Registration (EUR), authorized by Health Canada, allows producers to use 2% liquid strychnine specifically for Richardson’s ground squirrel control in response to significant crop and pasture damage caused by these pests.
✅ Before purchasing strychnine, producers must complete the required online training.
The graphic outlines the 5 steps producers need to follow to purchase and use strychnine under the EUR program.
